Upcoming Class
Looking for a meaningful way to use your scraps? Join our monthly Hearts to Love, Hands to Serve Charity Quilt Group at The Old Country Store! In this welcoming and collaborative class, participants work together to create quilt blocks using scrap fabric—each quilt is a shared group effort, not an individual project.
Each month we focus on a specific block style, and in September, we’ll begin with the timeless Nine Patch. You’ll choose a level that fits your skill—basic, disappearing, or appliquéenhanced—and sew using your own machine (preferred), though Bernina classroom machines will be available if needed. Scrap fabric in the assigned color palette will be used, so it's a perfect way to put those leftovers to good use while helping others in need.
All quilts created will be donated to charity, selected by group vote every six months. Come sew with a purpose and enjoy the joy of giving—one block at a time!
Who Finishes the Quilting?
After a quilt top is completed by the group, there are two options for quilting:
1. The Old Country Store offers quilting services at a 10% discount for all charity quilt tops.
2. Group members may volunteer to take quilt tops home and complete the quilting on their own machines.
This approach allows flexibility while ensuring every quilt is beautifully finished. An embroidered quilt label will be included with each donation.
If you feel moved to support the mission of Hearts to Love, Hands to Serve, we graciously welcome donations of quilting supplies. Items such as batting, backing fabric, 100% cotton scraps, thread, and basic sewing notions help us continue making quilts for those in need. Every donation—big or small—makes a meaningful difference. With your support, we can continue wrapping our community in comfort, one quilt at a time.
