Introduction to Hand Applique

Past Class

After decades of speedy machine sewing and quick-piecing techniques, quilters are rediscovering the joy of "slow sewing" and the pleasure of portable hand-stitching projects. No longer locked away in their quilt studios, they can now enjoy stitching away in the presence of family and friends or while on the go. You'll be amazed at how much you can accomplish in your "stolen moments".

In this "slow down and sew" class, overcome the intimidation of appliqué! Discover how effortlessly you can create beautiful appliqué projects with smooth curves and perfect shapes using the Starch and Freezer Paper Method of appliqué. Learn how to do the basic shapes: hearts, circles, leaves, stars and stems. The 18" block you work on in class can be turned into a pillow or wall hanging.

This class is appropriate for beginners and beyond.

A required supply list (fabric and additional notions) will be sent with your class confirmation. There is a $5 kit fee, payable to the instructor by cash or check on the day of the class.
