Upcoming Class
The Singer Featherweight Club celebrates America and the “Greatest Generation” with blocks that were published in the Kansas City Star newspaper in the early 1940’s. Each month will feature a specific technique, using rotary cutting and Deb Tucker’s Studio 180 Design tools instead of the templates used in the original patterns.
July: Create the Contrary Wife and Broken Sugar Bowl blocks, using the Tucker Trimmer to make the half-square triangle units.
August: Strip-piecing simplifies the Comfort Quilt block. The Silent Star block uses the Tucker Trimmer to make half-square triangles, and 2- and 3-color quarter-square triangle units.
September: Use the Wing Clipper to make Flying Geese units for the 1941 Nine-Patch and Army Star blocks.
Each class will include historical facts connecting the Singer Featherweight to the events of the time.
Club dates are Saturdays, July 18th, August 8th, and September 12th. Signing up with the link below will register you for all three sessions.
