Kelly has been a passionate crafter for as long as she can remember, always keeping markers and paper close at hand. While her mother was a lifelong quilter and garment maker, Kelly didn’t discover her love for sewing until adulthood. In 2012, after acquiring an off-brand sewing machine, she dove into her first project—a handmade bag—and was instantly hooked. Her creative journey quickly led her to Hinkletown Sewing, where she became a proud BERNINA owner. Kelly soon discovered the wide range of classes offered at The Old Country Store, expanding her skills through quilting, bag making, embroidery, and even sneaker-making courses. Sewing and quilting have since become her therapy and creative outlet; she can’t imagine life any other way. In 2020, Kelly and her mother co-purchased a BERNINA Q24 with QMatic, immersing herself in the world of longarm quilting. Her dedication and enthusiasm led her to become a Certified Instructor for Studio 180 Design in 2022. Today, Kelly is a familiar face at quilt shows, where she sells and teaches all things Studio 180. As the educator for BERNINA’s Q Series machines at The Old Country Store, Kelly is eager to share her knowledge and help others discover the joy of sewing and quilting. When she isn’t behind one of her BERNINAs, you’ll find her lounging by the pool in the summer or tackling home improvement projects with her husband, Aaron.
